So not only did you teach me about writing memoir, you also taught me about reading and thinking about how others write memoir. Thank you so much! Rebecca

The Liars Bench had a SRO crowd at the Mountain Heritage Center at WCU

I wish I could have been there for this show.
It was standing room only, as you can see from the photographs on Gary Carden's blog: www.hollernotes.blogspot.com
The next show is on August 7 and will have the theme, "Cherokee in a Changing World." Like all Liars Bench shows, it will showcase storytelling, poetry, music and drama. Gary says he is now traveling a bit and will be at festivals in Franklin, Water Rock Knob and some libraries. I assume this means Liars Bench shows are being held in these places.

Folks in Sylva, NC and vicinity, hope you put the date on your calendar. You will enjoy yourself.

The Liar's Bench was fun

Had a great evening with Gary Carden and his friends at Liar's Bench at City Lights Books in Sylva, NC tonight. The Regional Room was packed. I hope to list those who contributed along with a photo soon.

The acts consisted of a Cherokee Storyteller who was the real McCoy. Hope to hear him again.

Two singers and guitar players - one was Steve Brady , actor and performer - entertained us well. I had to leave before the event was closed, but I hope to go back to enjoy another evening with the folks at the Liar's Bench.
